Young Prince Appointed Chairman for Saudi Publishing Group (Riyad Bureau, 09/02/2013)

A 25-year-old man has been chosen to lead Saudi Arabia’s largest publisher of newspapers and magazines. Local media reported today that Prince Turki bin Salman, son of the country’s Crown Prince, has been appointed chairman of the Saudi Research and Marketing Group (SRMG), succeeding his older brother Prince Faisal bin Salman who was recently appointed governor of Medina. The young Turki is the third son of Prince Salman to hold the position of chairman at SRMG. Prince Ahmed bin Salman was the chairman from 1989 until his death in 2002, and then his brother Prince Faisal succeeded him in the position since then. Little is known about Prince Turki bin Salman. The press release put out by SRMG says he went to college at King Saud University in Riyadh and holds a bachelor degree in marketing. He is also the chairman of Tharawat Holding Company, a firm he founded few years ago with his brother Naif.
